Youth Ministry

Young people need Christian guidance and support as they navigate and transition to young adults.

Our Youth Ministry aims to provide spiritual, emotional and social activities and programs which will teach, equip and guide young people in their walk with Christ. We want to raise Christ-like Leaders for future generations.

We aim to train and prepare young people for a life of mission and discipleship. We are working to build a Youth Ministry that will impact their peers and future generations.

We encourage and work with our youth so that they recognise, develop and use their God given gifts and talents.

We are determined to build a generation of youth who are embedded in the life and ministry of our Church. Working across all ministries, we strive to ensure that our young people are actively involved and included in weekly Church service through ushering, praise and worship, reading of scriptures, delivering encouragements, Church PR announcements and Testimonies.

We want to raise a generation of bold and vibrant young people who know God for themselves and who will proudly serve Him fearlessly with reverence and humility.

We currently meet on: –Wednesdays: 6pm to 7pm

Sundays Youth Meetings: 11am to 1:00pm

Youth Service: every 4th Sunday of each month 10.30am – 1pm

We look forward to seeing you soon!

Children Ministry

The mission of our Children’s Ministry is to encourage our children to grow and develop spiritually, physically & educationally to their maximum potential, teaching them who and what they are in Christ and that they can have the confidence knowing, that they can do all things in His Name (Philippians 4:13).

We want our children to understand that Jesus wants to be their best friend!

We are a children focused church and we provide provision for 2 age groups, which run alongside our Sunday service. The children take part in various activities such as teaching sessions etc whilst the parents can engage in the main church service.

The age groups are:

0 – 3 years

4 – 11 years

Baby changing facilities are available within the church building.

Every teacher that teaches in the Children’s Ministry has been DBS certified and adheres to the Safeguarding laws and policies.

Within the Team and Staff there are First Aiders and qualified nurses who are experienced in Special Educational Needs.

Children’s Ministry Activities

On a Saturday morning, we have a Saturday Homework Club which provides support for children from the church and the wider community for help in subjects such as English and Maths up to GCSE level.

Men’s Ministry

Our Men’s Ministry aims is to provide spiritual, emotional and social activities and programs which will teach, equip and guide our men in their walk with Christ. We want to set an example to the younger generation by leading by example.

Our aim is to bring Christian men of faith into fellowship with a determination to engage with the lost, in order to connect them to God, His Word, and other men for the purpose of winning, growing, and training God’s men in Christ.

Women’s Ministry

To connect with woman of all age and from all walks of life across Manchester. Nurture, support, equip, strengthen and encourage woman to develop a meaningful relationship with God and each other. Create the environment where women will flourish, have spiritual impact, be empowered to lead, serve and transform the lives of others around them.

We achieve this through connect groups, prayer breakfast, SISTATALK, performing arts and fun food and fellowship. Our Walking connect group meet every Saturday at 10:30am outside Alexandra Park

Prayer Ministry

Every Tuesday between 7pm and 8.30pm and there is also prayer on a Wednesday 10.30am

Ruth Burke is the Regional Prayer Co-ordinator for Region 6 and the local Prayer Co-ordinator for Moss Lane.

We link into the National Corporate theme of ‘Let us Pray’. We see this as our primary focus based on Christ’s admonition that we should pray and not faint.

Our prayer supports the life of the Church and helps our Leaders in steering in the direction that God has ordained. The main scripture that we are using this year is 2 Timothy 2:20, 21 which urges us to prepare ourselves to do the work of the Lord.

We have Prayer Meetings every Tuesday between 7pm and 8.30pm and there is also prayer on a Wednesday morning, led by our Seniors Co-ordinator, Launa Bailey. As a team, we lead prayer every Sunday morning from 10am to 10.30am and are available during services to support in prayer.

We also have fasting and prayer every 1st Sunday of the month. Our focus this year is Exodus 20: 3-20 where God ushers His people into a closer, more productive relationship with Him.

The National Theme for the Church of God of Prophecy UK is Let Us Pray – 2 Chronicles 20 verse 12. Click here to access cogop.org.uk/prayer/.

We continue to have 21 days of Corporate fasting and prayer at the beginning of the year and are involved in two separate weeks of Corporate prayer during the course of the year. Both of these include 24-hour Prayer Watches.

In these uncertain times, there has been call for 24/7 prayer until the covid-19 pandemic breaks. Much faith is needed to engage in this endeavour, and we ask you to prayerfully consider joining with us in prayer. Click on this link to sign up to the 24h Prayer Watch.

We also have daily prayer and bible study. Click here for more details: www.cogop.com/ and there is also a weekly live stream every Sunday evening with our National Presiding Bishop – Bishop Tedroy Powell and his wife Minister Alyne Powell cogop.org.uk/illuminate.

Cell Groups

Our congregation is organized in small groups of between 5 and 14 members.

In this way we get to know and understand each other on a more individual basis. We provide support to each other and celebrate with one another.

Our groups meet regularly in each other’s homes. We also meet on line when this is more convenient.

Our meetings are informal and friendly but follow a basic structure known as the 4W’s; Welcome, Worship, Word and Witness.

During our ‘Welcome’ time, we spend time getting to know each other.

During the ‘Worship’ time, we acknowledge God in a variety of ways.

During our ‘Word’, time, we receive guidance from the Bible.

During our ‘Witness’ time, we consider how we can reach out to others.

All our members are linked to a cell group which is guided by a group leader and someone supporting or training as a group leader.

Members are encouraged to participate in the activities of the cell group and to play an active role in the life of the wider church congregation.
